We promote culture, emotions and stories that bring people together.

We support the film industry by promoting festivals, open-air cinemas and cultural initiatives across the country.
A concrete commitment to celebrating the culture, stories and talents that light up the big screen.

Open-air cinemas

Circuito Cinema Genova
Since 2022, we have been running the project ‘BPER and Circuito: together for culture, together for the city’. Circuito Cinema Genova is a key player in promoting film culture in Liguria, distinguishing itself through the organisation of themed programmes, film festivals and meetings with leading figures from the worlds of cinema, art and music.
Anteo - Milano
Being the Main Sponsor of all Anteo’s summer activities means being part of a wide-ranging and multifaceted cultural project. AriAnteo, which from June to September presents a programme of European and international cinema, featuring the season’s best films, previews, premieres and events with special guests, bringing some of Milan’s most evocative venues to life; Anteo nella città, a travelling cinema programme on four wheels that brings high-quality screenings to eight squares, even in more outlying areas, transforming them into places for people to meet and share experiences; Fuoricinema, a festival of talks and previews centred on the theme of human, social and civil rights.
Cineteca di Bologna
BPER’s long-standing partnership with the Cineteca di Bologna – one of the world’s most prestigious film institutions, chaired by Marco Bellocchio – continues. We support Cinema Modernissimo, a historic cinema dating from the 1910s, situated beneath Piazza Maggiore, which has been reopened to the public following a major restoration and is now dedicated to great quality cinema, restored films and international film festivals, as well as ‘Sotto le Stelle del Cinema’, the famous summer festival which, every evening for over a month each summer, transforms Piazza Maggiore into a huge open-air cinema. It features restored films, masterpieces from the history of cinema and talks with international guests. A free event of great cultural value, recognised internationally as one of the most important open-air film festivals.

The festivals

Biografilm Festival - Bologna
We are a Premium Partner of Biografilm, the film festival that has been dedicated to biographies and life stories for over 20 years.
The 22nd edition took place in Bologna from 5 to 15 June: 11 days, 5 venues and more than 70 screenings, as well as 3 days dedicated to professional development and networking amongst professionals in the audiovisual sector, and a Campus which runs projects with schools and local communities throughout the year.
Sguardi Altrove - Women's International Film Festival - Milano - Pavia
Women’s cinema takes centre stage at the 33rd edition of Sguardi Altrove – Women’s International Film Festival, running from 10 to 28 March in Milan and Pavia. BPER is sponsoring this major international film event, which is dedicated to showcasing the female perspective in cinema and audiovisual media and promotes both emerging and established talent through talks, screenings, training and networking.
Marateale - Basilicata International Film Festival
We are sponsors of Marateale – Basilicata International Film Festival, one of the most eagerly awaited events of the summer in Basilicata, taking place in Maratea from 22 to 26 July.
The festival celebrates Italian and international cinema with screenings, masterclasses and awards such as the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Green Award, dedicated to environmental issues. We are particularly committed to supporting Marateale in School, the section aimed at students, and Marateale in Short, dedicated to short films. This initiative combines entertainment, culture and education, promoting cinema as a tool for personal growth, reflection and the discovery of new talent.
Ischia Film Festival - Ischia
We are sponsors of the Ischia Film Festival, an international film event which, in 2026, will celebrate its 24th edition, dedicated to the relationship between cinema and the local area. Founded in 2023 and hosted in the splendid setting of the Aragonese Castle, the festival has a unique narrative approach that highlights locations as a narrative and cultural element. The 2026 edition, running from 27 June to 4 July, is set to be a key event for film tourism and the cultural development of local areas.

Film awards

International Flaiano A - Pescara
We are supporting the 53rd edition of the Flaiano Awards, a programme of events that brings Pescara to life from February to July and culminates in the Flaiano Film Festival. Building on the legacy of Ennio Flaiano, the Abruzzo-born writer and screenwriter, the Awards are a multidisciplinary cultural event spanning literature, cinema, theatre, television and journalism, comprising a wide-ranging programme of events, festivals, conferences and award ceremonies. A defining feature of the event is precisely its ability to foster dialogue between different arts and forms of expression.
Alf Premi Cinema
We are a Golden Sponsor of Alf Premi Cinema, a biennial event with both national and international visibility, created to recognise and promote female talent in the worlds of cinema, audiovisual media and advertising, through training, calls for entries, networking activities and dedicated awards.
Milano Film Network
We are promoting the Milano Film Network, a network established in 2013 which aims to promote audiovisual culture, support independent cinema and offer training and funding services to professionals in the sector.
Marateale – Premio Internazionale Basilicata
We are sponsors of Marateale - Premio Internazionale Basilicata, one of the most eagerly awaited events of the Lucanian summer, scheduled to take place in Maratea from 22 to 26 July.
The festival celebrates Italian and international cinema with screenings, master classes, and awards such as the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Green Award, dedicated to environmental issues. We are particularly committed to supporting Marateale in School, the section aimed at students, and Marateale in Short, dedicated to short films. An initiative that combines entertainment, culture and education, enhancing cinema as a tool for growth, reflection and the discovery of new talents.
Baaria Film Festival
We are sponsors of the Baarìa Film Festival 2025, an international festival dedicated to the cinematography of the world's islands, with the aim of narrating the cultural richness of island territories through cinema.
The festival takes place from 2 to 6 July in Bagheria, a city that symbolises identity and tradition, and offers screenings, meetings, and cultural exchanges.
For us, supporting this initiative means enhancing not only auteur cinema, but also local communities, young talents and dialogue between cultures, in one of the most evocative and authentic places in Sicily.

The Strega Prize sculpture: the ideas competition

The call for entries, which involves students from the Italian State Fine Arts Academies, was created to bring the worlds of art and literature closer together. The competition calls for the design and realisation of a sculptural artefact with references to culture, writing, reading and the prize.
The winning work constitutes the BPER Prize to the finalist authors of the Premio Strega.
