We work to integrate environmental analysis into our business processes, as outlined in our ESG Policies, Environmental and Energy Management Policy, and Sustainability Reporting. Our approach includes managing and monitoring consumption, sourcing products certified according to recognized environmental standards (such as purchasing FSC-certified recycled paper), managing resources in line with company policies, and promoting environmental projects.

Paper dematerialization
In our offices and branches, 99% of the paper we use is recycled, with the remaining 1% being Certified Paper. To reduce paper consumption, we have launched several projects: digital newspapers, F24 dematerialization, digitalization of the Group's legal entity processes, replacement of regular mail with certified email (PEC), promotion of the use of Advanced Electronic Signature (FEA) and Qualified Electronic Signature (FEQ), digitalization of BPER Card Online account statements, and a "Cost Optimization" project. This initiative has had a significant impact; thanks to the progressive dematerialization of document flows and the adoption of digital solutions, it has achieved annual savings of approximately 28 million sheets of paper, corresponding to a reduction of 141.20 tons of CO2.
Energy management
Our Energy Plan includes the conversion of gas generators to heat pumps, the implementation of an IT platform to search for gas leaks, the optimisation of the use of functional office space, and the implementation of BEMS control and monitoring systems.
As of 31 December 2025, we have installed 28 photovoltaic systems, producing 2,443,630 kWh.

Sustainable mobility
Charging stations for electric cars, electric bicycles and repair kits, dedicated car sharing apps for employees, company electric cars, company shuttles, offsetting emissions from fuels used with DKV card climate are available to people working at BPER.
UNI EN ISO 14001 and UNI EN ISO 50001 Certifications
Since 2024, an integrated environmental and energy management system, UNI EN ISO 14001 and UNI EN ISO 50001, has been implemented, resulting in the achievement of the respective certifications for 20 significant properties. This activity is part of the decarbonization process adopted by the Group and supports the objectives of continuous improvement of the environmental performance and energy efficiency of the affected facilities, in line with the growing market and stakeholder focus on environmental sustainability issues.
