We value writing as a tool for dialogue, culture and social cohesion.

We believe in culture as a driver of growth. In a rapidly changing world, words remain fundamental. They tell us who we are, open up new perspectives and create connections, which is why we support literature and awards that highlight its role in society.

Literary awards

Strega Prize

For the past 15 years, we have been the main sponsor of the Premio Strega, organised by the Maria and Goffredo Bellonci Foundation and Liquore Strega. This partnership is consistent with our identity as a bank, which recognises culture and reading as a driver of growth and social development. We support the prize as it evolves, with the aim of engaging readers of all ages and tastes; we contribute special prizes and accompany the stages of the Strega Tour to promote a vibrant culture, in dialogue with people and local communities. photo credits: MUSA

Literary festivals

Taobuk - Taormina Book Festival

We are sponsors of Taobuk, the Taormina International Book Festival, one of Italy’s leading cultural events.
Set within the gardens of Palazzo Duchi di Santo Stefano, the bank has created BPER Agorà, a space for dialogue and engagement where authors and scholars have shared their thoughts on the major issues of our time.
Inspired by these meetings, ‘Pensieri in volo’ was created – a podcast that brings together and explores the ideas that emerged in Taormina across five episodes dedicated to trust in relationships, knowledge, innovation and building the future.
Salerno Letteratura Festival
A key event for Italian culture, dedicated to quality non-fiction and critical thinking. Every year, it brings the historic centre to life with meetings, readings and debates involving essayists, intellectuals and scholars.
We are sponsors of the festival and the Salerno Libro d'Europa Award, which promotes new voices in European fiction, confirming our commitment to a vibrant, inclusive culture that serves as a tool for awareness and change.
Marzamemi Book Fest
One of Sicily’s most significant cultural events, organised in collaboration with L’Espresso against the stunning backdrop of the ancient fishing village of Marzamemi. Featuring talks with authors, journalists and leading figures from the world of contemporary culture, the festival brings together literature, in-depth discussion and entertainment, showcasing one of the Mediterranean’s most iconic locations as a space for dialogue, reflection and engagement.
Positano Mare, Sole e Cultura
A long-standing event that for years has brought some of the most influential figures from the worlds of culture, journalism and public life to the pearl of the Amalfi Coast.
An exclusive event that combines public engagement with first-hand accounts, offering the public opportunities to discuss the major issues of our time in one of the most iconic settings in Italy.
