Cosa facciamo di concreto nel contrasto al Gioco d’Azzardo Patologico

Nell'ambito delle azioni di Responsabilità Sociale, mediante il contrasto al Gioco d’Azzardo Patologico intendiamo:

• tutelare il benessere sociale dei nostri clienti e delle loro famiglie, evitando che la dipendenza possa determinare una eventuale perdita del posto di lavoro e della fonte di reddito;

• combattere le organizzazioni che promuovono il gioco d’azzardo illegale o quelle che intervengono in modo illecito a supportare economicamente i giocatori patologici coinvolgendoli in giri di usura;

• progetti destinati ad acquisto, costruzione, svilupo e ampliamento di sale per il Gioco d'Azzardo;

• acquisto e produzione di macchinari che favoriscono il gioco d'azzardo (es. slot machines, etc.);

• sviluppo, diffusione, pubblicazione cartacea o digitale e attività di marketing connesse alla promozione del gioco d'azzardo.

Our commitment to inform, prevent
and take action.

Pathological Gambling (PG) is a form of addiction that can deeply impact individuals, families, and communities.
As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility toward the communities we serve, we are committed to informing, preventing, and taking action to combat this issue.
Titolo paragrafo
Voluptas facilis id unde et dolore sapiente quo rerum. Eos ullam ad.
Since 2013, we have implemented initiatives aimed at informing the public, preventing addiction, and combating Pathological Gambling.

The goal of these initiatives is to raise greater awareness about gambling and the risks associated with addiction, including its potential impact on personal finances, social relationships, and the health of those affected — with particular attention to the younger generations.

By fighting Pathological Gambling, we aim to:
Protect
the well-being of our customers and their families, preventing addiction from leading to potential job loss and loss of income.
Combat
organizations that promote illegal gambling or provide illicit financial support to pathological gamblers, often trapping them in cycles of debt and usury.
Educate
young people on how to manage their money responsibly, in order to foster a more informed generation that is less vulnerable to addictive behaviors.

Starting with financial education

We believe that educating both young people and adults about financial matters is essential to help them make informed decisions about spending, investing, and saving.

Our role as a responsible bank

We have blocked the use of credit cards issued by the BPER Group on online gambling websites and in physical locations (e.g., gaming halls) classified under the “gambling” merchant category.

The only exceptions are a very limited number of “Black” cards issued by the Group, reserved for a small segment of clients.
We have drafted the “ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) policy in the area of credit granting”, which outlines our efforts to combat gambling addiction.

Through this policy, we commit ourselves to not financing:
  1. projects involving the purchase, construction, development, or expansion of gambling venues;
  2. the purchase and production of gambling machines (e.g., slot machines, etc.);
  3. the development, distribution, publication (in print or digital), or marketing of gambling promotions.

Our Guides against gambling

Guidebook: “Giocatori d’azzardo patologici e servizi bancari”
We created a brochure to support the families of pathological gamblers, offering simple suggestions for monitoring and intervention related to banking services, in order to protect the family’s standard of living — while complying with banking regulations and privacy protections.
“EVITARE LA TRAPPOLA”: a Guide to Online Gambling
In partnership with Avviso Pubblico, we created this guide to provide better understanding of the main issues tied to the widespread online gambling offer — both legal and illegal — including testimonials and highlights on misleading advertising, as well as national data on the phenomenon.

Raising awareness to prevent addiction: initiatives for youth and local communities

The new roadshow “Fate il nostro gioco”

 "Fate il nostro gioco" is the new awareness-raising initiative on Pathological Gambling aimed at secondary school students, realised together with FEduF (ABI) and led by Taxi1729's science communicators.

A roadshow that will pass through several Italian cities with an interactive lecture-show: a path designed to guide young people to discover the real dynamics of gambling, between mathematical rules, false beliefs and awareness of the real probability of winning.

Another step in our commitment to raise awareness on the risks of pathological gambling, promoting financial education as a tool for prevention and social responsibility.is our new awareness campaign about Pathological Gambling, aimed at high school students.
