Back Sustainability ratings improve in 2024
In 2024 BPER Banca obtained an improved rating regarding its management of environmental, social and governance issues from some of the main international ESG rating agencies, such as S&P Global Sustainable1, Moody's Analytics and Sustainable Fitch.
These recognitions testify to the validity of the strategic path undertaken by the Bank, which has integrated sustainability objectives into its Business Plan.
BPER has demonstrated effective management of ESG issues through the implementation, for example, of a Plan to reduce energy consumption, support for the ecological transition of families and businesses with a dedicated ceiling of 7 billion euros and a role as partner strategy, supporting social inclusion initiatives in the local communities in which it operates, promoting diversity and inclusion within the organization and continuously improving corporate governance practices.
Here are the ratings in detail:
S&P Global Sustainable1: in 2024 BPER obtained 69 points in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), reflecting an improvement of 9 points compared to 2023.
Moody's Analytics: in 2024, the rating conducted by Moody's Analytics on BPER was "Advanced" (range from "Weak" to "Advanced"). The ESG score improved from 59 to 63/100 as of July 2024.
Sustainable Fitch: in 2024 BPER improved its rating from 3 to 2 (range from 5 to 1, where 1 is the best) and obtained a score of 63.
In 2024, the Standard Ethics agency, compared to the previous year, assigned a positive outlook to BPER Banca, confirming the EE+ rating.
Finally, we report the inclusion in the FTSE4Good Index Series, created by the global index provider FTSE Russell, which measures the performance of companies that demonstrate solid environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices.
The upgrades in the main ESG ratings and the inclusion in the FTSE4Good Index Series reward our constant commitment and the work always carried out with great care and responsibility. We are proud to see how the path we have undertaken has benefited from these recognitions and it is our intention to continue in this direction.
